WANA (Feb 08) – In a meeting with the head and members of Hamas’ leadership council, Iran’s Supreme Leader described Gaza’s resistance victory as not only a defeat for Israel but also a triumph over the United States. He emphasized that Washington’s threats have no effect on the Iranian nation or its officials.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad Ismail Darwish, head of Hamas’ leadership council; Khalil al-Hayya, deputy head of Hamas’ political bureau; and Zaher Jabarin, Hamas’ leader in the West Bank. At the beginning of the session, Mohammad Ismail Darwish highlighted the coincidence of Gaza’s victory with the anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, considering it a sign of the approaching liberation of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Khalil al-Hayya also stated that this recent victory is a shared honor for both the Palestinian people and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei addressed Hamas leaders, stating: “God Almighty has granted you and the people of Gaza honor and victory, making Gaza an embodiment of the Quranic verse: ‘How often has a small group overcome a mighty host by God’s permission.’”

Supporting Gaza: A Duty for the Islamic World

The Supreme Leader described Hamas’ recent negotiations as significant and called on the Islamic world to help ease the suffering of Gaza’s people. “Today, it is the duty of the Islamic world and all supporters of the resistance to assist the people of Gaza and alleviate their hardships,” he stated.

He also emphasized the importance of cultural and media activities alongside military efforts and Gaza’s reconstruction:
“The resistance forces and Hamas have performed exceptionally well in propaganda and media efforts, and this approach must continue.”

Responding to U.S. Threats

Referring to Washington’s recent threats against Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei asserted: “Such threats have no impact on the mindset of our nation, our officials, or the country’s activists and youth.”
