WANA (August 11) – Kioumars Hashemi, The Minister of Sports and Youth of Iran met and held discussions with FIFA President Gianni Infantino at Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris.

During the meeting, Infantino praised the “passion and enthusiasm” of football fans in Iran, stating, “I was deeply impressed by the interest and enthusiasm of your spectators during the World Cup and the Asian Cup in Qatar. I know football is a significant sport in Iran.”

The Minister of Sports and Youth referred to the blocked funds of Iranian football in FIFA accounts, saying, “We expect you to directly intervene to resolve this issue because Iranian football needs these funds for the development of various sectors, including women’s and youth football.

Due to the unjust sanctions against the people of Iran, it is impossible for Iranian football to access this money, and we ask you to help solve this problem.”

Regarding the issue of Iran’s blocked funds in FIFA accounts and Iran’s request for assistance, the FIFA President said, “This matter concerns football, and our policy is to develop football across the globe. That’s why we share your concerns and are actively working on this issue.”
