WANA (July 29) – The 2024 Paris Olympics’ second day featured competitions in various disciplines, where Iranian representatives participated in three fields on Sunday.

During yesterday’s two-person rowing competition, a strange event occurred when Mehsa Javar and Zainab Nowrozi, representing Iran, were introduced. At the starting line, the announcer mistakenly referred to the Iranian rowers as athletes from Israel but quickly corrected this mistake.

Following the incident, the officials of the National Olympic Committee of Iran promptly protested against the unusual behavior of the rowing competition organizers. They officially announced their protest to the International Olympic Committee and the competition organizers and demanded an official response.
