Iran’s Oil Production Increases 7% Under 14th Administration
WANA (Apr 09) – The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) reported a 7% increase in oil production during the 14th administration, according to CEO Hamid Bourd. He highlighted that, despite sanctions and external challenges, Iran managed to break oil export records at various points in 2024.
Bourd also shared that in 2024, NIOC achieved a significant gas milestone, reaching a record of 1.114 billion cubic meters of gas production in a single day. Key projects contributing to this success included the long-awaited launch of the Khesht oilfield, increased production from the Tous gas field, and new facilities such as the Varavi gas compression and Ahvaz desalting units.
He added that NIOC also made notable improvements in human resources, including doubling salaries for personnel in operational areas and launching recruitment drives to enhance workforce capabilities. On the environmental front, NIOC worked on flare gas recovery programs in collaboration with the government and parliament, with positive results expected in the near future.
Despite the confidentiality of export figures, Bourd confirmed the oil sector’s success in maintaining steady production and export levels, with recognition from both the Oil Minister and industry experts.
