Iran’s Supreme Leader: Region’s Crisis Stems from False Peacemakers
WANA (Oct 02) – This morning, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, met with the country’s elite scholars and top talents, stating, “Although we are in mourning, we did not postpone our meeting with the scholars, as the pursuit of excellence should not be delayed.”
During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his deep sorrow over the recent loss of prominent figure Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, declaring, “The incident that occurred is not a minor one; his absence is a significant loss that has truly grieved us.”
He acknowledged the prevailing atmosphere of national mourning, emphasizing, “While this is indeed a period of public mourning in the country, I felt it was essential to hold this meeting. This gathering was planned in advance and could have been postponed to next week, but I thought this direction—the orientation towards excellence—must not lag behind. We convened this session as a message to ourselves.”
Supreme Leader remarked, “Our mourning does not signify despair or withdrawal; rather, our grief is akin to Imam Hussein’s (PBUH)—a vibrant and life-giving sorrow. While we are in mourning, this feeling motivates us toward progress and a greater zeal for work. I want this message to resonate deeply, reminding us that our mourning should propel us forward.”
He also indicated that he has further thoughts on issues concerning Lebanon and Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, which he intends to share in the near future.
Regarding the situation in Lebanon and Gaza, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out, “The fundamental problem in our region, which gives rise to conflicts, wars, concerns, and hostilities, stems from the presence of those who claim to seek peace and stability, namely the United States and certain European countries. If they were to reduce their malevolence in this region, undoubtedly, these conflicts and wars would cease entirely. The countries of this region could govern themselves, live together peacefully, and maintain their well-being.”
