Iran’s Supreme Leader: The Highest Banner of Islam is Raised by the People of Gaza Today
WANA (July 30) – The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with Ismail Haniyeh and Ziad al-Nakhalah this morning, stated: Today, the highest flag of Islam is in the hands of the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza, and thanks to this resistance, the grounds for the further promotion of Islam have been laid.
Ayatollah Khamenei, in his meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of Hamas, and Ziad al-Nakhalah, Secretary General of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, praised the unparalleled steadfastness and resistance of the oppressed people of Gaza. He emphasized that today, the highest flag of Islam is in the hands of the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza, and thanks to this resistance, the grounds for the further promotion of Islam have been laid.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed out that one of the perennial concerns of Islamic thinkers has been how to promote Islam and present a model of an Islamic society. He added that the increasing inclination towards Islam at the present time is indicative of the greatness of the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that the main factor behind the grandeur and glory of the resistance is the people of Gaza and the residents of the West Bank. He expressed hope that the Palestinian people and the resistance forces would receive divine help, support, and glad tidings.
Ismail Haniyeh congratulated the new President of Iran and considered the recent elections as a manifestation of democracy based on Islamic thought. Referring to his meeting with Mr. Pezeshkian, he said: In this meeting, we once again witnessed the good and firm positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the issue of Palestine and the resistance movement, and we felt proud of these positions.
The head of Hamas’ political bureau elaborated on the latest field and political situation in Gaza and the West Bank, saying: Yesterday was the 300th day of the Gaza war, and we have now reached a sensitive and historical stage where the Palestinian people and the resistance forces must solidify their heroism and victory.

In this meeting, Ziad al-Nakhalah, Secretary General of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, also congratulated Mr. Pezeshkian on his election as the new President and praised his positions in support of Palestine and the resistance. He said: The joint presence of Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders in today’s meeting is a symbolic sign of the unity of the resistance forces in Palestine. Thanks to this unity, coordination and cooperation within the resistance front in the region are at their best.
Masoud Pezeshkian also described this meeting with “Ziad Nakhalah” as an important message for those seeking to create a distance between Iran and the resistance groups, especially the Palestinian brothers and fighters.
Pezeshkian stated that the positions and policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the cause of defending the oppressed, including the Palestinian people, and the cause of liberating Jerusalem do not change with the change of governments. He added that support and backing for the goals of the oppressed Palestinian people will continue with strength, and no factor can undermine our resolve on this path.
