WANA (Sep 05) – The Iranian youth Greco-Roman wrestling team achieved a remarkable victory at the World Championships, securing a total of four gold medals, one silver, and one bronze.

 

The ranking and final matches of the five weight categories of the Greco-Roman Wrestling Youth World Championships were held in Pontevedra, Spain, culminating in this impressive result for Iran.

 

Ali Ahmadi Vafa won gold in the 55 kg weight class, Mohammad Mahdi Gholampour in the 60 kg category, Ahmadreza Mohsennezhad in the 67 kg weight class, and Alireza Abdoli in the 77 kg category.

 

Abolfazl Fathitazangi earned a silver medal in the 130 kg category, and Erfan Jarkani claimed bronze in the 63 kg weight class.

 

On the final day of the competition, Mohammad Mahdi Gholampour decisively won the gold medal in the 60 kg final, defeating Serhat Anci of Turkey with a score of 9-0.

 

Additionally, Mohsennezhad secured the gold medal in the 67 kg final by defeating Ashrapov of Kazakhstan with a score of 7-3. This outstanding performance highlights the strength and skill of Iran’s young wrestlers on the global stage.
