Iraq – Kurdistan region seeks to expand ties with Tehran
WANA (May 5) – Nichirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, arrived in Tehran as the head of a high-ranking delegation of Kurdistan Region officials.
” Nazem Dabbaqh” the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Tehran, spoke about the official visit of “Nechirvan Barzani,” the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to Tehran, stating: The President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation including “Sheikh Jafar Sheikh Mustafa,” the Deputy President of the Kurdistan Region, “Mustafa Sayyid Qadir,” the Deputy President of the Kurdistan Region, “Delshad Shahab,” the Senior Advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Region, “Rebar Ahmed,” the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, “Fuad Hariri,” the Chief of Staff, “Abdullah Akreyi,” the Advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Region on Iranian Affairs, and others, arrived in Tehran this afternoon on Sunday, May 5th.
This senior diplomat added: It is planned that during this official visit, the President of the Kurdistan Region will meet and negotiate with senior Iranian officials, including “Ali Khamenei,” the Supreme Leader, “Ebrahim Raisi,” the President, Dr. “Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf,” the Speaker of the Islamic Republic’s Parliament, Dr. “Hossein Amir Abdollahian,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and others.
The representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Tehran commented on the objectives of Nechirvan Barzani’s visit to Iran, stating: The President of the Kurdistan Region, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between Iran and the Kurdistan Region, discussing regional issues of significance, expanding Tehran-Erbil relations, and more, has traveled to Tehran and is engaging in meetings and discussions with senior Iranian officials.
