WANA (Oct 03) – Israel has elaborated on its intelligence capabilities and the extensive assassinations of high-ranking officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Syria, all within a remarkably short period of less than 45 days.

Israeli television reported that the “Paris Deal,” mentioned in the media regarding the arrest of Pavel Durov in France, was a prearranged program for information exchange between Telegram and Israel.

This information included secret chat conversations that were previously claimed to be securely encrypted, as well as contact details, IP addresses, and location data (latitude and longitude), among other things.

By combining this information with data obtained from Meta, the parent company of Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, Israel was able to fully uncover the communication network of key figures in the resistance front. The late Seyed Hassan Nasrallah alluded to this issue during a speech following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

To cover this security cooperation, the CEO of Telegram stated in the media that since 2018, Telegram has provided the IP addresses and phone numbers of criminals to authorities in most countries in accordance with its privacy policies.

Since Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are classified as terrorist organizations by the United States, Telegram is not prohibited from providing their information to the U.S. and is legally required to do so.

Pavel Durov stated that Telegram has not violated privacy rights and has cooperated with the U.S. and Israel in accordance with international laws aimed at combating terrorism, referring specifically to the IRGC, Hezbollah, and the resistance front.
