Israeli Police Claims Another Arrest Over Alleged Espionage for Iran
WANA (Dec 17) – The Israeli police have claimed another arrest of an individual on charges of espionage for Iran, as part of their ongoing allegations of Iranian spy networks.
According to a report on Tuesday, Israel’s internal security agency (Shin Bet) and police announced that an Israeli citizen was detained in occupied Jerusalem on suspicion of spying for Iran.
The Israeli police alleged that the detainee carried out security-related tasks for Iran in exchange for financial compensation.
This follows recent claims by Israeli security sources that 30 individuals were arrested for similar charges, including allegations that one aimed to assassinate an Israeli nuclear scientist while others sought information on military bases and air defense systems.
In November, Israeli media reported that due to a surge in arrests of citizens accused of espionage for Iran, authorities ordered the establishment of a designated prison wing.
According to the reports, this new wing is designed with advanced security measures to house and manage high-risk security prisoners, reflecting the Israeli prison system’s response to wartime challenges and public security concerns.
