WANA (July 22) – Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had a telephone conversation with Iran’s President-elect, Masoud Pezeshkian.

 

According to the Japanese Prime Minister’s office, Kishida expressed his intention to collaborate and further develop Japan-Iran relations based on their traditional friendly ties.

 

The two leaders also exchanged views on the Middle East situation. Kishida expressed hope that Iran would play a more constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and enhance cooperation with the international community.

 

They also discussed Iran’s nuclear issue.
