WANA (Aug 31) – Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations and the situation in Palestine.

During the conversation, the Jordanian Foreign Minister expressed concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the escalating tensions in the West Bank, emphasizing the need for the immediate cessation of hostilities in both regions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to engage in constructive dialogue with Jordan regarding bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues.

Araghchi pointed out that the continuation of the Zionist regime’s criminal actions is the main cause of escalating tensions and conflicts in the region. He described the regime as the biggest obstacle to achieving a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and stressed the need for effective international action to stop the Zionist genocide and provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

The Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will support any agreement that aligns with the will of the Palestinian people and their resistance.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing consultations between the two countries, considering it beneficial for the interests of both nations and the region.
