WANA (Sep 14) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson criticized recent comments by the European Union’s High Representative, who accused Iran of involvement in the Ukraine crisis, urging the EU to refrain from making baseless accusations.

In response to the EU’s statement claiming that the Islamic Republic of Iran was involved in the Ukraine conflict, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani strongly rejected and condemned the accusation.

He asserted, “The position of the Islamic Republic of Iran is entirely clear; any claim regarding the sale of ballistic missiles to Russia by Iran is unfounded and false.”

Kanaani warned Western countries that persisting in such stances and issuing damaging statements would only escalate tensions. He called on the European Union to avoid making allegations based on incorrect information.

Referring to the West’s sanctions policy against Iran, he noted, “Unfortunately, some Western countries are addicted to sanctions as an outdated tool. This approach fails to solve problems and becomes part of the problem itself, and it will undoubtedly be met with a response from Iran.”
