WANA (August 04) – In a message posted on his official account on X, Nasser Kanaani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed the international community’s duty to end the Israeli regime’s impunity on “Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day.” Kanaani highlighted the regime’s lack of commitment to basic human rights principles and emphasized the need to stop its actions to protect human dignity.

The spokesperson’s message is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

“O humankind, indeed, We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” – Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:13

“August 4th marks ‘Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day.’ The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) adopted the Islamic Declaration on Human Rights in 1990. In 2008, at the proposal of the Islamic Republic of Iran, August 4th was designated as ‘Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day.’

Islam is the greatest advocate for humanity’s material and spiritual rights. Just as it championed the right to life and human dignity in an age dominated by ignorance, presenting honorable ways of living, today, Islamic nations and governments are deserving of being the foremost claimants and true flag-bearers of human rights. They should promote these lofty Islamic and human values.

The advancement of human rights and their actual values in today’s turbulent and confused world requires a global, reformist resolve and prevents powerful entities from exploiting these rights for illegitimate political goals.

On ‘Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day,’ we call on all Islamic governments and nations to support the natural and human rights of millions of Palestinians who have been under siege, bombarded, displaced, or imprisoned for decades, representing a glaring example of gross human rights violations.

A nation whose most basic human rights have been violated by an occupying regime and now faces extreme and unprecedented inhumane and anti-human actions, approaching genocide by the same regime.

The international community, driven by human duty, must end the unacceptable immunity of the usurping Zionist regime, which adheres to none of the basic principles of human rights, to prevent the continued trampling of human dignity.

Clearly, in achieving this important goal, the responsibility of Islamic countries and nations is central and decisive.”
