WANA (Sep 22) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani: “Today, the Sacred Defense is unfolding on a new scale and geography across the region, standing against the criminal Israeli regime. The fate of these criminals will be no different from that of the tyrant Saddam.”

In a statement on Sunday, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, paid tribute to the people who were killed in the cause of Jerusalem. Honouring the memory of Ibrahim Aqil and others who were killed in the recent attack by the Israeli regime in Beirut, Kanaani remarked, “These martyrs gave their lives for the liberation of Jerusalem, and their sacrifice brings us closer to realizing this noble goal.”

Kanaani highlighted the resilience of the resistance movements in the region, which, despite years of challenges and the loss of many brave fighters, have continued to grow and strengthen, consistently surprising their enemies. He emphasized that Israel, the U.S., and their allies will never achieve their “malicious” objectives, no matter the lives they take.

The Iranian diplomat further noted that the current regional struggle against Israel is part of a broader and more complex battle, comparing Israel’s fate to that of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Kanaani questioned the belief held by the U.S. and Israel that they could emerge victorious from this conflict, given their repeated failures in past confrontations with the resistance.

Kanaani concluded by reaffirming the faithful’s ultimate victory, stating that, despite the loss of commanders and soldiers, the army of Islam remains undeterred. “God’s promise of triumph for the believers is certain,” he asserted.
