WANA (Sep 30) – In a press conference today, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanani reacted to the recent crimes committed by the Israeli regime, stating, “Anyone who stands against Iran’s national security will receive a response to these adventurous actions.”

Kanani emphasized, “We are not just about slogans; we take action, and we have demonstrated that we stand firmly against aggressors and will cut off the hands of the invader.”

He added that immediately following the Israeli regime’s criminal act of targeting the Dahiya region of Beirut and using American-supplied bombs to attempt the assassination of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Islamic Republic of Iran swiftly placed international and legal measures on its agenda. Given the presence of Araqchi in New York, he declared Iran’s position there.

Kanani noted that the Foreign Ministry also issued a statement promptly. Araqchi, attending a United Nations Security Council meeting, reiterated Iran’s stance and condemned the terrorist actions of the Israeli regime while calling for immediate action from the international community and the Security Council.

The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that Araqchi has engaged in discussions with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), calling for an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers from Islamic countries.

Additionally, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the rotating president of the Security Council, urging immediate action on this matter, emphasizing that Iran will defend its rights.

He further stated that the letter classified the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah and the IRGC advisor as a threat to peace and security in the region and the world, which could lead to further conflicts and tensions.

The UN Secretary-General must implement the demands of the global community, Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran for urgent actions by the United Nations. He added that Iran’s actions will continue and that they are in close consultation with Lebanese officials.

Iran to Hold Israel Accountable for Its Actions

Kanaani announced that the country’s First Vice President has communicated with Mikati to prioritize serious actions between Lebanon and Iran. The spokesperson emphasized that no actions taken by the Israeli regime will go unanswered and that Israel will face consequences for its crimes.

“The Islamic countries possess significant capacity to punish the Israeli regime,” he stated. “This is a rightful demand and expectation of the Palestinian people from Islamic nations to utilize their tools and resources to exert pressure on Israel. The UN Security Council, due to the destructive role of the United States, has failed to effectively deter the Israeli regime.”

He further noted that the current experiences in Lebanon and previous aggressions by Israel towards neighbouring countries demonstrate that these violations will not be confined to a specific geographical area. Therefore, it is politically prudent for Islamic countries to leverage their capabilities to apply pressure on Israel. Efforts from grassroots movements to hold Islamic governments accountable can also be beneficial.

We Will Cut Off the Hands of the Aggressor

Kanaani stated that while the United States uses sanctions as a weapon against Islamic nations, these countries have not effectively utilized their capabilities against the Israeli regime and the U.S.

He emphasized that from the onset of the crisis and war in Gaza, Iran has maintained a clear stance on the necessity of supporting Palestine and preserving stability, peace, and security in the region.

The country has conducted extensive diplomatic efforts aimed at halting the war against the oppressed Palestinian people and preventing the conflict from escalating. “The war against Gaza will not fulfil any of the announced goals of the occupiers, who, after nearly a year of committing war crimes, have achieved none of their objectives,” he stated, warning the international community that this war poses a threat to regional and global peace and security.

“Iran is not a warmonger; we strive for peace, stability, and security,” he added. “We will never stand idly by against any adventurism that threatens our national interests and security. Those who stand against Iran’s national security will receive a response to their provocative actions. We do not just make promises; we take action, and we have demonstrated our resolve to confront aggressors and cut off their hands decisively.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Nasser Kanani, affirmed that if conditions allow, Iran will continue its support until reaching Jerusalem, asserting that there should be no doubt about Iran’s ability to respond to aggressors. He emphasized that both the Israeli regime and the world have witnessed Iran’s actions and commitment, stating, “Iran does not just make promises; it acts.”

Kanani stressed that the Israeli regime’s assassinations and crimes will not save it or restore security to the occupied territories. He highlighted that these actions will not repair their internal divisions, restore the shattered confidence of the Israeli army, or cleanse the regime’s image in the eyes of the global public.

He noted, “Our forbearance, patience, and wisdom are aimed at preserving peace and security in the region and the world. However, if the circumstances demand it and the situation necessitates action, Iran will not hesitate to support its national security and its regional allies.”

Diplomatic Efforts Against Sanctions Ongoing

Regarding diplomatic efforts, Kanani stated that sanctions against Iran are illegal and that the use of sanctions as a tool for advancing political goals is unjust. Iran will utilize its presence in international forums and continue its diplomatic efforts to lift these sanctions.

He added that the nuclear negotiations have a specific goal and are unrelated to other issues, affirming that discussions have taken place regarding the visit of Grossi, indicating that such exchanges are likely to continue.

Furthermore, he clarified that Iran does not have proxy forces in the region; instead, resistance movements represent their nations in the face of foreign occupation and aggression. “The regional resistance forces act within the framework of their national interests and the pursuit of their own security, being an integral part of their countries’ political processes,” Kanani concluded.

Kanani: Iran Has No Proxy Forces in the Region

Nasser Kanani, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, reiterated that Iran does not possess proxy forces in the region. He emphasized that “Iran supports anti-Zionist resistance groups to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people and establish deterrence against threats from the Israeli regime.”

He asserted that Iran would act decisively to ensure its own security, clarifying that delays in some actions do not mean that the aggressors’ actions are overlooked, and no act of aggression will be removed from Iran’s list of counteractions.

Kanani remarked on the situation in Palestine over the past year, describing it as a disgraceful episode for the global community, the United Nations, and the Security Council, which have witnessed severe human rights violations in Gaza without taking action.

He questioned, “What do the defenders of human rights say about the bombing of residential buildings, hospitals, and schools? How do they justify the killing of over 41,000 innocent people?”

He stated that Iran will not wait for others to defend the Palestinian people, noting that this has been Iran’s stance since the revolution, and the country has paid the costs associated with it. “We are sincere in our actions, not just our slogans,” Kanani affirmed.

U.S. Complicity in Crimes Against the People of Lebanon and Palestine

The Spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that the issue of Palestine does not diminish the responsibility of independent, non-regional countries. He condemned the Israeli regime for bombing Lebanon and continuing to threaten further attacks, highlighting the U.S. support for Israel as a stain on American history for defending the massacre of innocent people and framing blatant aggression as self-defence.

He remarked that the acknowledgement of the U.S. providing one-ton bombs to Israel signifies nothing less than U.S. complicity in the crimes committed by the Israeli regime. Kanani noted that terrorist groups in the region serve as tools of the imperialist system to further their objectives. He emphasized that Iran and Pakistan share a common approach and cooperation in the fight against terrorism, as regional instability threatens the security of both nations.

Kanani added that Iran’s efforts to counter the sources of instability in the region and to halt the war crimes committed by the Israeli regime do not conflict with its ongoing initiatives for constructive dialogue with the world and those willing to engage in resolving issues and misunderstandings with Iran.

He reiterated Iran’s commitment to supporting regional governments and peoples against the aggressions and threats posed by the Israeli regime, labelling it the main source of insecurity and instability in the region. Kanaani asserted that Iran will continue to defend the peoples of Lebanon and Palestine until the criminal and occupying practices of the Israeli regime come to an end.

He added, “We will continue our extensive efforts to establish and promote peace, stability, and security in the region. The United Nations General Assembly provided an appropriate opportunity for the President and the Foreign Minister to express Iran’s positions and views. In our foreign dialogues, we present our perspectives and approaches while also listening to the viewpoints of the other side.”

Details of the Russian Prime Minister’s Visit to Iran

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced that the Russian Prime Minister’s visit to Iran is scheduled today as part of prearranged plans. During his visit, he will meet with Mr. Aref and the President.

Several economic managers and business representatives from Russia will accompany the Prime Minister, and discussions will focus on coordinating efforts to advance economic and commercial projects between the two sides in various sectors.

The spokesperson also stated that a strategic cooperation document between Tehran and Moscow is being prepared, which is expected to be finalized at the appropriate time and at the designated level.

He emphasized that Iran decisively supports its national interests and security. As a significant regional player in the Persian Gulf and West Asia, Iran is firmly committed to cooperating with regional countries, viewing this as a fundamental principle for establishing lasting peace, stability, and security in the region.

No Need for Iran to Deploy Volunteer Forces to the Region

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that regional governments and nations possess the necessary capacity and power to defend themselves against the aggression of the Israeli regime, and there is no need for Iran to send volunteer forces. He emphasized that no requests have been made from any parties, and it is clear that they do not require our human resources.

The spokesperson noted that the Israeli regime, due to its multiple failures in recent years, lacks the capability to confront resistance groups. He highlighted that Lebanon demonstrated its ability to defeat the Israeli regime, citing the use of air power and American bombs during recent conflicts.

He recalled how Lebanon effectively expelled the Israeli regime from southern Lebanon in 2006, inflicting a heavy defeat on them. Thus, he affirmed that they had the capacity to stand against this regime.
