WANA (July 23) – The head of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations said that Dr. Pezeshkian’s perspective is to establish relations with all countries, including those with which we currently have problems, and even engage in dialogue to create grounds for developing relations.

 

After meeting with President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian, Kamal Kharazi said, “I introduced the President-elect to the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations and the role this council plays in formulating various strategies in the field of foreign relations.”

 

He continued, “I hope that his government will be established as soon as possible, and we will be by his side in advancing his goals. The President-elect also mentioned that they would utilize this body because Pezeshkian’s perspective is based on connecting and strengthening ties with other countries.”

 

Regarding the Foreign Ministry’s strategy, Kharazi stated that the Supreme Leader determines the foreign policy strategies, and various governments must implement these strategies with their specific approaches. Besides these approaches, which are crucial from an executive standpoint, the means of achieving these strategic goals are also important.

 

Speaking about Pezeshkian’s view on foreign policy, he said, “Dr. Pezeshkian believes that we should establish relations and engage in dialogue with all countries, including those with which we currently have issues, and create opportunities for developing relations. This is generally a positive perspective.”

 

Kharazi said, “It is everyone’s duty to help the government succeed in this path, enabling it to establish active foreign relations with respect and constructive dialogue. This will significantly impact Iran’s relations with other countries and regional issues.”
