WANA (July 30 ) – Kamal Kharrazi, Head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations and former Iranian Foreign Minister, has strongly criticized the latest Israeli claims attributing the recent attack on Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights to Hezbollah.

In an interview, Kharrazi labeled these accusations as a repeat of previous Israeli claims made after the bombing of al-Ma’madani Hospital in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of 500 civilians, including women and children, and was blamed on Palestinian resistance groups.

Kharrazi highlighted that Israel’s current assertion—that Hezbollah was responsible for the attack on the Golan Heights—is intended to escalate the conflict. He dismissed the claim as ridiculous, noting that the residents of the Golan Heights are themselves opposed to the Israeli regime and have displayed portraits of Bashar al-Assad throughout their city. Additionally, protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu occurred during his recent visit to the region.

Kharrazi questioned how Hezbollah, an ally of Syria, could attack residents loyal to Syria. He condemned the allegations as part of a broader conspiracy and warned that Israel would face severe consequences if it continued with such provocations. He suggested that Netanyahu’s most effective course of action would be to end the brutal conflict in Gaza, as continued warfare would only result in further devastation and loss of life.
