WANA (July 08) -Iran and Russia have a long history of strategic cooperation, particularly in areas such as energy, defense, and regional security.

 

In recent years, their relationship has strengthened through mutual economic interests and collaboration on geopolitical issues, such as the Syrian conflict.

 

Both nations aim to counterbalance U.S. influence in the region, fostering a partnership that combines economic ties with shared political goals.

 

Regarding the future relations between Iran and Russia following the election of Iran’s new president, Kremlin Spokesperson  said:

 

We Hope Russia-Tehran Relations Develop During Pezeshkian’s Term.

 

“We hope that during Iran’s new president’s term, Moscow’s unified relations with Tehran will develop further.

 

We have great respect for the choice of the [Iranian people]. The people of Iran are exercising their sovereignty.”
