Lavrov: U.S. Claims of Missile Transfers from Iran and North Korea Are Pure Fiction
WANA (Sep 21) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied U.S. claims that Iran and North Korea are supplying missiles to Russia, calling them baseless. He emphasized that Russia cooperates with these countries in various fields without violating international obligations. Lavrov stated, “Even if the U.S. invents 10 stories a day and accuses us of every major sin, these allegations hold no meaning.”
Lavrov emphasized that Russia’s cooperation with Iran, North Korea, and other nations in economic, political, and military-technical fields adheres to international obligations.
Previously, Vasily Nebenzya, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, also rejected Western accusations regarding alleged Iranian ballistic missile transfers to Russia, calling them baseless.
He claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is orchestrating a disinformation campaign to provoke Western countries and the U.S. into a military conflict with Russia.
In early September, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran had sent a shipment of short-range missiles to Russia, a claim that has been repeatedly denied by senior Iranian officials.
