WANA – Iran has the lowest fertility rate among the countries of the Islamic world.

 

Secretary of the Center for Strategic Population Studies said:
– With the current trend, it should be said that the country’s population will not even reach 100 million people.

 

– The fertility rate index also shows that in 1987, our rate was 6.5 children, and this rate reached 1.6 by the end of last year (2021), which is a shocking number.

 

– Currently, the fertility rate of Gilan, Mazandaran, Markazi, Alborz and Tehran provinces is 1.2%, and Iran has the lowest fertility rate among the countries of the Islamic world.

 

– 33% of the country’s population will be elderly in the next 30 years.
