WANA (June 27) – Samir Sharifov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Iran’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri, and discussed the situation.

 

Bagheri called the existence of many commonalities between the two countries a valuable capital for the overall development of relations and stated, “The development of relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan is an important priority of the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy.”

 

Bagheri described the agreements made in the last meeting of the martyred president of our country with his Azerbaijani counterpart as very important and emphasized their implementation as soon as possible.

 

Bagheri emphasized the strategic importance of joint economic projects for both countries and the region. He stressed the significance of joint economic and consular commissions and the private sector.

 

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed condolences on the tragic passing of our country’s president and foreign minister. He mentioned that the last meeting between the presidents of the two countries and the opening of the Khodaafrin and Qizqala Si dams symbolized goodwill and emphasized the importance of completing other joint projects, such as transportation projects.
