WANA (May 18) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi announced that the date for the next round of indirect talks between Iran and the U.S. will likely be finalized and announced soon. He also clarified that no written message from the U.S. was delivered during his meeting with the Omani Foreign Minister.

 

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Tehran Dialogue Forum, Araghchi provided details about his meeting with Oman’s Foreign Minister, saying: “In today’s meeting, we discussed bilateral relations, regional developments, and the status of indirect talks between Iran and the United States. We reviewed the latest developments on these fronts.”

 

He added, “The timing of the next round of talks is almost decided, but it still needs to be finalized. It will likely be announced soon.”

 

Araghchi also noted that the Omani Foreign Minister would provide information regarding the location of the upcoming negotiations.

 

In response to a question about whether a written message from the U.S. was conveyed, Araghchi said:
“We did not receive any written message.”

 

The first round of these indirect talks between Iran and the U.S., mediated by Oman, was held on April 12 in Muscat, and the second round of talks took place in Rome on Saturday, April 19, again with Oman as the intermediary.

 

The third round of talks, which took place on Saturday, April 26, was also in Oman. Iran and the United States concluded their fourth round of indirect negotiations in Muscat on Sunday, May 11.
