OPEC Secretary General: Iran has always had useful, practical, and constructive cooperation with OPEC
WANA (May 27) – The President said, “Some Western countries are seeking to sow discord among the OPEC member countries, and in contrast, the OPEC members should prevent the realization of these goals by strengthening their unity.”
Ayatollah Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, during the meeting with OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al-Ghais, considered the constructive interaction of the members of this organization with each other as an essential factor in the success of this international organization and added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always had a constructive cooperation with this organization, and we will continue and improve the level and strengthen this cooperation.”
Dr. Raisi stated that the philosophy behind the formation of OPEC was to support the rights of oil producers and prevent discrimination against them, and said, “I hope that OPEC can control inflammation and bring peace to the oil market in the new period of activity.”

In this meeting, OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al-Ghais also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the founding members of OPEC, has always had useful, practical, and constructive cooperation with this organization and its members, and noted, “Iran, both at the ministerial and technical level, has always acted in the direction of strengthening the cohesion and unity of OPEC members.”
The Secretary General of OPEC also explained the latest situation in the oil market and said, “I hope that with the unity of opinion among OPEC members and benefiting from the support and constructive cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we will be able to bring peace to the market.”
