Opening of the Four-Day Iran-Africa Summit
WANA (Apr 27) – The Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Summit officially commenced this morning. The event will be held from April 26 to 28 in Tehran and from April 30 to May 1 in Isfahan.
This morning, the Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Summit opened at the Tehran Summit Hall, with the participation of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, officials from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, and a number of African continent representatives.
Iran is hosting officials from the African Union, presidents, prime ministers, ministers of economy and trade, heads of chambers of commerce, businessmen, economic activists, bank and insurance executives, manufacturing units, and managers of major international companies from African countries.
The Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Summit is considered a turning point in structuring Iran’s collaborations with the continent. Meanwhile, Africa offers a unique opportunity for developing countries to expand their trade.
For this third summit, over 700 traders from 38 African countries have registered to attend the event.
Moreover, more than 50 officials at the ministerial level and heads of chambers of commerce from 29 African countries are expected to participate.
The event will feature four specialized panels at the ministerial level, focusing on petrochemicals, mining and metals industries, agriculture and food industries, and healthcare and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, B2B (business-to-business) meetings tailored to each panel topic will be organized.
On the first day, the summit will host four specialized panels. On Monday, participants will visit the Iran Expo exhibition. On Tuesday, after a specialized panel at the Persian Gulf Hall, government delegations and African traders will travel to Isfahan, where they will attend further specialized meetings and visit over ten industrial centers and factories across the province. In Isfahan, tourism and handicrafts will also be included among the focus areas.
It is worth noting that the summit will take place in Tehran from April 26 to 28 and in Isfahan from April 30 to May 1.
