WANA (Sep 11) – The U.S. Department of Defense claims that Iran has delivered short-range Fateh-360 ballistic missiles to Russia, though they have not yet been used in the war against Ukraine.

Pentagon spokesperson General Patrick Ryder stated that these missiles could be deployed by Russia in the coming months, raising concerns about European security.

Reports suggest that Russian personnel have been trained in Iran to operate these missiles, which could potentially be used to target Ukrainian infrastructure, leading to more civilian casualties.

Ryder also highlighted the growing military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, which he claims extends Iran’s destabilizing Russia could deploy these missiles influence beyond the Middle East.

In response, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on 10 individuals, six entities, and four vessels involved in Iran’s missile shipments to Russia.

These sanctions target key players in Iran’s weapons supply chain, including Iran Air, accused of facilitating the transport of sensitive materials for Iran’s missile and drone programs.

Iran, however, denied these allegations, with its UN envoy reiterating that Tehran opposes military assistance to any party in the Ukraine conflict, calling such actions inhumane. Iran accused the West of prolonging the war by supplying advanced weaponry to Ukraine.
