WANA (Aug 19) — Today at noon, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held a telephone conversation. During the conversation, they reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed ongoing regional developments, particularly the negotiations aimed at establishing a ceasefire in Gaza.

During the conversation, the two leaders criticized the policies and actions of the United States and certain Western countries towards the people of Gaza.

They condemned the media and military support these nations provide to Israel, describing it as contradictory to their claims of defending human rights and efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.

The leaders argued that this support only perpetuates the ongoing atrocities against the innocent and defenceless people of Gaza.

Additionally, the Iranian and Malaysian leaders emphasized the need for unity and coordinated action among Islamic countries to counter the crimes committed by Israel and to halt the ongoing massacre and genocide in Gaza.

They underscored that convening a summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) would be a significant step in this direction.
