WANA (August 11) – In a phone conversation between Charles Michel, President of the European Council, and Massoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, the two sides discussed Iran-Europe relations, ways to resume negotiations on the nuclear agreement, and the crisis resulting from the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and its terrorist activities in the region.

The Iranian president, during this discussion, emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been a supporter of peace, tranquility, and stability for all nations worldwide.

He stated that any process, anywhere in the world, that endangers these values should be halted.

He added that the double standards applied by the United States and some Western countries have emboldened the Zionist regime to commit more heinous acts of terror and crimes in Gaza and other countries in the region, further threatening regional and global peace and security.

Pezeshkian also responded to the European Council President’s interest in resuming talks on the nuclear agreement, stressing that trust and the mutual protection of interests are fundamental to any agreement.

He added that if both sides fulfill all their commitments and trust is established, in addition to reviving the nuclear deal, it would be possible to discuss other issues between the two parties.
