WANA (Dec 02) – Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the spread of insecurity and terrorism in the region benefits no country and urged all regional nations to play a role in combating these issues.

 

Speaking during a phone call with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday, Pezeshkian stated that the insecurity caused by terrorist groups, particularly in northern Syria, harms the entire region and stressed the importance of regional collaboration to ensure peace and stability.

 

Pezeshkian also reiterated Iran’s call for a secure region with territorial integrity and peace for all nations. He urged regional leaders to act proactively to secure the region before foreign interventions occur.

 

The Iranian president expressed appreciation for Qatar’s efforts as a mediator in regional crises, particularly regarding Gaza, and hoped these peace efforts would continue. He also highlighted Israel’s role in spreading instability and terrorism in the Islamic world, underscoring the need for unity among Muslim nations.

 

Furthermore, Pezeshkian referenced the strong bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to fulfilling agreements made during his recent visit to Doha. He announced that a high-level Iranian economic delegation would visit Qatar to accelerate the implementation of these agreements.

 

In his response, Emir Sheikh Tamim confirmed Qatar’s alignment with Iran on regional issues, including Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria’s territorial integrity. He reiterated the importance of political dialogue and solutions to achieve stability in Syria.

 

The Emir also praised the recent agreements between the two countries, expressing optimism for the future of their bilateral relations and commitment to fully implementing these accords.
