Pezeshkian: Trump Talks About Negotiations but Signs Sanctions
WANA (Feb 10) – During the rally marking the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted enemy efforts to sow division and stated: “The enemies want to create the illusion that Iran has weakened, but with the wisdom and leadership of the Supreme Leader and the presence of the people, their dream will never come true. The Iranian people have stood firm against bullying, and their conspiracies will fail.”
He pointed to the hostile policies of the U.S. and Israel, stating: “They are the real terrorists, yet they label us as such. Many in our country have fallen victim to terrorism—from the Supreme Leader and the President to Friday prayer leaders and even our scientists.”

Trump’s Contradictory Talk on Negotiations
Iran’s president criticized the U.S.’s double standards, saying: “Trump says he wants negotiations with Iran, yet at the same time, he signs a memo approving every possible plot to bring down the Revolution—then claims to support dialogue.”
He added: “He (Trump) claims Iran destabilizes the region, while it is Israel, supported by the U.S., that bombs the oppressed people of Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and wherever it pleases.”

U.S. Support for Israel Against International Justice
Referring to international legal institutions addressing war crimes, he stated: “The United Nations and the International Court of Justice, which is responsible for legal matters worldwide, should prosecute and convict this Israeli leader, a war criminal. Yet, the U.S. president, who claims to seek peace and stability, defends this criminal condemned by international organizations. Who is truly disrupting the peace in the region? Who is causing unrest, killing, and destruction?”
He then criticized the U.S.’s double standards on human rights: “Who is responsible for mass killings and destruction in the region? Does anyone in the world accept bombing women, children, and the sick? If you are brave, fight the warriors!”

Unity: The Key to Iran’s Strength
Iran’s president stressed the importance of national cohesion: “Our success lies in unity, as Imam Khomeini always emphasized, and as the Supreme Leader continues to highlight. If we stand together, we can overcome our challenges, and America can only dream of bringing us to our knees.”
Criticism of U.S. Policy Against Iran
Highlighting U.S. pressure on Iran, he remarked: “He (Trump) says, ‘We want to negotiate,’ but if he were truly interested in negotiations, why did he make these wrong moves (like imposing sanctions and signing a memo against Iran)? He claims, ‘I don’t want (to be hard on Iran),’ yet he seeks to block every path—medicine, food, water. Unaware that they’ve been doing this for years (sanctioning Iran). If this approach were going to work, it would have by now (bringing Iran to its knees through sanctions).”

Iran Will Never Surrender to Foreign Powers
The Iranian president declared: “We will never bow to foreigners. We are not seeking war. They were the ones who, on the first day of our presidency, assassinated Ismail Haniyeh because they fear the unity and strength of us Iranians.”
He concluded: “We will continue on the path set by the Supreme Leader with strength. We will treat our neighbors with brotherhood and mutual respect. All regional nations are our brothers, and if we stand with Gaza and Palestine, it is because we defend the oppressed. If you seek peace, stop supporting oppression, aggression, injustice, and terrorism.”
Referring to enemy attempts to assassinate Iranian scientists, he emphasized: “They cannot tolerate a free-thinking individual. They either try to buy them or, if that fails, resort to assassination. But the Iranian people will stand firm and foil all these conspiracies.”
