WANA (August 05) – In a meeting with Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation, Iranian President Pezeshkian emphasized that Russia has been a steadfast ally of Iran during difficult times.

 

He stated that enhancing relations with this strategic partner is a priority for the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and stressed the need to expedite the implementation of agreements between the two countries.

 

The Iranian President highlighted the importance of regional and international cooperation between Iran and Russia. He stated, “We believe the era of dominance by certain powers, including the United States, is over.

 

The shared positions and cooperation between Iran and Russia in promoting a multipolar world will undoubtedly enhance global security and peace.”

 

In another part of his remarks, Pezeshkian referred to the horrific crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and their actions to incite violence in the region.

 

He stated, “The criminal acts of this regime against the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza, as well as the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas Political Bureau in our country, are blatant violations of all international laws and regulations.”

 

The Iranian President severely criticized the support of the United States and some Western countries, who claim to be defenders of human rights, for the crimes of the Zionist regime.

 

He asserted, “The Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek to expand the scope of war and crisis in the region, but this regime will undoubtedly face the consequences of its crimes and arrogance.”

 

Pezeshkian also appreciated Russia’s stance in supporting the Palestinian people and condemning the criminal actions of the Zionist regime.

 

He emphasized Iran’s determination to enhance bilateral interactions, especially in political and economic matters.

 

In the meeting, Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation, congratulated Dr. Pezeshkian on his election as the President of Iran.

 

He regarded the Islamic Republic of Iran as a key and strategic ally of Russia in the region. Shoigu expressed satisfaction with the joint efforts of the two countries to create a multipolar world and ensure regional security.

 

He noted that the relations between the two countries are growing in all sectors and there are promising prospects for developing existing interactions.

 

The Secretary of the National Security Council of Russia also expressed his country’s interest in accelerating the completion of joint projects, including the North-South Corridor.

 

He emphasized that Russia places great importance on cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in international organizations, including the United Nations, BRICS, and Shanghai, and will strive to expand these collaborations.
