WANA (Dec 12) – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament emphasized that the Islamic Republic will assess the actions of armed opponents and their supporters regarding Daesh-like behaviors and their alignment with the Zionist regime, and will respond accordingly.

A Divine Light Amid Challenges

Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, stated: “Yesterday, once again, in one of the most sensitive moments for the country, divine guidance appeared through the wise words of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, transforming confusion and anxiety into calm and hope, illuminating a clear path for the future.”

He added that the Leader’s explicit and enlightening guidance serves as a decisive framework for all analyses and perspectives. “Any deviation from this guidance would be an unforgivable mistake given the sensitive situation in the country and the region,” he stressed.

The Foundation of Resistance

Qalibaf highlighted the fundamental logic behind resistance, citing the late Imam Khomeini: “Our primary duty, as part of our Islamic Revolution, is to awaken the world’s heedless and oblivious. We must proclaim: ‘Rise! This is no place to sleep. The world is not safe from predators!’”

He continued, emphasizing the need for vigilance against enemies: “We must understand the limits of the enemies’ tolerance for our independence and freedom. Certainly, their tolerance ends where our spiritual and divine identity begins. As stated in the Quran, they will not cease their hostilities until they turn you away from your religion.”

The Role of Resistance and Syria’s Importance

Qalibaf pointed out that the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government would disrupt the resistance front, but emphasized the resilience of groups like Hezbollah: “They have shown that they can adapt quickly to new conditions, becoming even stronger. The martyrdom of senior Hezbollah commanders posed a greater challenge than Assad’s potential fall, yet the resistance emerged more robust, forcing the Zionist regime into a ceasefire and preventing any encroachment on Lebanese soil.”

The Syrian Crisis and Missed Warnings

Regarding Syria, Qalibaf noted that the current turmoil was not entirely unexpected: “We had warned the Syrian government about interventionist designs. Had these warnings been heeded and a path of dialogue with the people and national unity pursued, Syria might not be facing internal chaos, sectarian strife, and repeated Zionist aggression today.”

Waiting for Armed Opponents’ Actions

He reiterated: “We, as the Islamic Republic, are closely monitoring the actions of armed opponents and their supporters, particularly in relation to Daesh-like behavior and alignment with the Zionist regime. Our response will be proportionate to their actions.”

A Rapidly Changing Region

In conclusion, Qalibaf stated: “The region is undergoing rapid transformations, shaping a new order. If we remain passive, we will face significant challenges. However, with wisdom, we can turn these challenges into major opportunities for our nation. As Martyr Soleimani said, ‘Great opportunities emerge from threats.’ For over forty years, we have learned how to operate in this region, and with divine assistance and adherence to the Leader’s guidance, we will turn current threats into the greatest opportunities.”
