Qalibaf: Trump Is Delusional
WANA (May 14) – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament stated: “Last night’s remarks by the President of the United States revealed that he is delusional. Instead of worrying about Iran’s internal affairs, he should be concerned about holding the record for the steepest decline in popularity of any U.S. president.”
The full speech of Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, at the 19th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), is as follows:
“Esteemed Colleagues,
The root cause of instability in West Asia lies in the U.S. regime’s support for the Zionist mafia. In response to this occupation and aggression, the people of the region have turned to resistance.
The U.S. President’s remarks last night clearly showed that he is delusional. We advise him to open his eyes and recognize the undeniable reality: the spirit of resistance holds a firm place in the hearts of the people. One only needs to look at the recent surveys conducted in Gaza and the West Bank—despite a year and a half of relentless bombardment, the Palestinian resistance continues to enjoy overwhelming popularity.
Likewise, in Lebanon’s recent municipal elections, after enduring long-standing economic and military pressures, the people decisively voted in favor of resistance-aligned candidates.
Rather than interfering in Iran’s internal affairs, the U.S. President should reflect on the fact that he holds the record for the most significant drop in public approval for a president in U.S. history.
The Iranian people will never forget the U.S. regime’s role in the 1953 coup, its support for Saddam Hussein during the eight-year war against Iran, the downing of a civilian airliner over the Persian Gulf, the assassination of General Soleimani—the national hero in the fight against ISIS terrorism—and dozens of other crimes.
The U.S. regime has exerted maximum pressure on our beloved Iran, yet the Islamic Revolution has only grown stronger and more resilient. So much so that the message of resistance has even reached their own universities, forcing them to expel students and cut university budgets in response.
Trump’s rhetoric echoes policies that have long destabilized our region. Iran does not seek conflict, but neither will we surrender. We are brothers with our neighbors and firmly oppose the American strategy of sowing division to boost their arms sales.
It is widely known that Iran has never pursued nuclear weapons. True regional security will only be achieved through cooperation among the countries of the region, free from external interference.
In conclusion, I would like to once again express my sincere gratitude for the gracious hospitality and the efforts of those who organized this valuable session.”.
Qalibaf: Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons
“#Iran is not a warmongering nation, but it will not surrender either. We have brotherly relations with our neighbors and reject any attempt by the United States to sow discord in order to boost its arms market.
