WANA (Apr 08) – Russia has expressed its support for ongoing nuclear discussions between Iran and the United States, according to Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian presidency.

On Tuesday, Peskov emphasized that Moscow backs the dialogue between the two nations on Iran’s nuclear program and supports the political resolution of the issue.

These remarks come after Peskov had previously stated that Russia is prepared to exert every effort toward a peaceful resolution of Iran’s nuclear issue.

Speaking to reporters today, Peskov stated, “Direct and indirect contact between the U.S. and Iran regarding the nuclear program in Oman is planned, and Moscow welcomes this initiative.”

The Kremlin spokesperson further reiterated Russia’s stance, saying, “We have repeatedly stated our support for resolving the Iranian nuclear issue through political and diplomatic solutions. If that is the case, we can only welcome it.”
