WANA (July 06) – Saeed Jalili, a candidate in the 14th presidential election, congratulated his rival Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory and election as President of Iran in a message following the announcement of Pezeshkian’s win.

 

Saeed Jalili  Congratulatory Message to Massoud Pezeshkian:

“On July 6th, the great nation of Iran once again demonstrated to the world the strength and depth of the foundations of religious democracy and the republic system through extensive participation and serious competition in a healthy and secure environment.

 

It is now incumbent upon everyone to respect the people’s choice and assist him in advancing the country and elevating the sacred system of the Islamic Republic.

 

I congratulate Dr Pezeshkian on winning the majority of the votes and, as before, consider it my duty to support the incumbent government in overcoming challenges and achieving the desired progress for the country.

 

I thank the millions of voters who sought to use “a world of opportunities” for “a leap for Iran” and assure them that, with the backing of nearly 14 million of your votes, I will redouble my efforts to support the strengths, help correct errors, and eliminate deficiencies in current processes using the capacities of the people, academia, industry, and elites.

 

Now is the time for every Iranian to play a “glorious role” with national solidarity and unity to achieve the great aspirations of the Islamic Revolution.”
