Saudi Foreign Minister: I will travel to Tehran soon
WANA (Jun 2) – Iranian Foreign Minister Dr Amir Abdollahian and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, who had travelled to South Africa to participate in the BRICS Friends Summit, met and discussed bilaterally.
Dr Abdollahian expressed his satisfaction with the excellent progress made in bilateral relations and added that, fortunately, the two countries’ ambassadors were appointed and mutually introduced. The ground is ready for the opening of embassies and consulates.
Dr Amir Abdollahian thanked and appreciated the facilities and suitable arrangements provided by Saudi Arabia for the journey of Iranian pilgrims to perform Hajj Tamattu.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran added, “In the previous talks, we talked about the necessity of strengthening the trade and economic relations between the two countries, and your upcoming visit to Tehran will be an opportunity for further discussion and exchange of views to enhance bilateral ties in various fields.”
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan also expressed his satisfaction with the remarkable progress made in bilateral relations during this meeting.
He thanked the valuable assistance of the Iranian side in welcoming the Saudi technical delegation to lay the groundwork for the opening of the Saudi embassy and consulate general in Iran. He added, “With the excellent cooperation of the two sides, the stages of appointing ambassadors and laying the groundwork for the opening of political and consular missions will pass quickly. and we are moving towards a new phase of relations between the two countries, which will provide the interests of the two nations and the entire region.”
Saudi Foreign Minister emphasized that he will visit Tehran soon in response to the invitation.
In this meeting, the parties exchanged warm greetings of the heads of the two countries.
