WANA ( Nov 05) – The head of Iran’s Space Agency announced that in 2024, between five to seven domestic and international launches are planned, some of which will use the “Simorgh” and “Qaem” launch vehicles.

 

Dr. Hassan Salarieh, head of the Iraniansalasd Space Agency, spoke after the launch of the Kosar and Hudhud satellites, stating that the aspiration of all researchers and industry professionals is to see an advanced country in every field, including the space industry. He emphasized that Iran’s space industry cannot achieve its goals without the participation and influence of the private sector.

 

According to the head of the Space Agency, in 2024, there will be seven domestic and international launches, with some of them utilizing the “Simorgh” and “Qaem” launch vehicles.

 

He also mentioned that the first launch of 2024 took place in September with the launch of the “Chamran” satellite, with its successful outcome reported on the Iranian Space Agency’s website.

 

Salarieh named the Chabahar Spaceport as Iran’s main launch center for the future, noting that the sun-synchronous orbit is of special importance for remote-sensing satellites, including the “Kosar” and “Pars 1” satellites, and that such missions can be executed from this site.

 

Salarieh concluded by stating that human spaceflight and space studies are part of Iran’s strategic space plan. With support from the private sector and domestic capabilities, these goals are closer to realization. Several contracts have been signed to design and manufacture 500 kg and 1500 kg capsules for human spaceflight, with the 1500 kg contract already finalized, and the 500 kg capsule contract currently in progress.
