Successful Large-Scale Operations in Iran’s Army Exercise
WANA (Jan 21) – The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army’s ground force successfully carried out multiple day and night operations during a large-scale, multi-phase military drill. This drill, involving specialized units and helicopter support, aimed to enhance combat readiness and address hypothetical threats.
According to reports, on the first night of this drill, the 65th Special Forces Rapid Reaction Brigade of the Army carried out its first night-time helicopter assault operation under the cover of Airborne Unit (Havanirooz) and with the use of advanced domestically made night-vision equipment.
Bell 214 helicopters and Cobra attack helicopters played a key role in this mission and were able to transfer the rapid reaction forces to the designated areas.
On the second day of the exercise, the units of the Army Ground Force, with extensive support from Fajr missiles, precision-guided artillery, and attack helicopters, targeted areas under the occupation of hypothetical enemy forces.
These actions were carried out in coordination with demolition operations, raids, theft, abduction of key targets, and the rescue of hostages by the 65th Nohed Brigade.
Also, in this exercise, modern equipment such as smart Fajr 5 missiles with pinpoint targeting and network-centric capabilities, drones equipped with guided bombs, and electronic warfare systems were tested operationally.
According to Army officials, the goal of this exercise was to increase combat power for confronting threats, demonstrating military might, and creating deterrence.
These military drills evaluated the operational power of the Iranian Army Ground Force units in response to various threat scenarios.
