WANA (July 24) – Following the German police’s action of closing several Islamic centers, the German Ambassador to Tehran, Hans-Udo Muzel, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. The hostile act was condemned in this meeting, and the German government was warned about the consequences of such destructive actions.

 

In the meeting, the hostile act, which is against the fundamental principles of human rights, was condemned, and the strong protest of the Islamic Republic of Iran was conveyed to him.

 

The German Interior Minister announced today the closure of the Islamic Center Hamburg, claiming it supported Hezbollah. In addition, four other mosques were also closed.

 

The Director-General for Western Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the valuable and unforgettable services of Islamic centers, including the Islamic Center Hamburg in explaining Islamic religious teachings, promoting the principle of dialogue and religious tolerance, and combating extremism, stated: “Unfortunately, what happened today in Germany is a clear example of Islamophobia and opposition to the teachings of Abrahamic religions, which also reflects dictatorship and the deliberate promotion of violence.”

 

The Director-General for Western Europe added: “Certain groups supporting known terrorists and advocates of violence and extremism are seeking to escalate religious and sectarian tensions with baseless accusations, but German Muslims and other free thinkers worldwide will smartly condemn this plot to failure.”

 

This senior official of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, warning the German government about the consequences of such destructive actions, emphasized that such actions are a clear example of opposing freedom of thought and expression and practically promote violence and extremism.

 

In this summoning session, the German ambassador stated that he would immediately relay the issues to the relevant authorities in Germany.
