Taliban Calls Afghans Refugees Living in Iran to Return
WANA (August 12) – Mawlavi Kaleemurrahman, the Financial and Administrative Officer of the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, spoke about the benefits of migration from the perspective of Islam. He stated, “I consider myself a servant ready to embrace the refugees. The Islamic Emirate and the Ministry of Refugees are prepared to welcome them.”
Mawlavi Mahmoud Haq Ahadi, another official from the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees, mentioned that with the cooperation of partner organizations, cash, food, and non-food assistance have been provided to Afghan refugees.
He added that all necessary living facilities, including clinics, mosques, free SIM cards, food, drinking water, and basic necessities, have been made available in temporary camps. Reception and hospitality centers have also been established in the provinces of Nangarhar, Nimroz, Kandahar, and Herat to welcome the returnees.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation claims that in the past year, 1,799,603 individuals have returned to Afghanistan from Iran, Pakistan, and other countries.
