WANA (July 23) – The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today, Tuesday, that Moscow and Tehran have completed preparations for a comprehensive cooperation agreement, which will be signed soon in a historic event.

Previously, in late June, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Office (Kremlin), issued a statement confirming that Moscow and Tehran are continuing their work on the comprehensive bilateral cooperation agreement.

The Kremlin spokesperson added that while the specific timeline of events might change, Moscow remains committed to developing its relations with Tehran.

Kazem Jalali, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, responded to reports suggesting the suspension of the strategic comprehensive agreement between Iran and Russia. On his official account on X, he clarified that the finalization process of the strategic agreement is proceeding as planned.

He stated that the reported suspension of the cooperation agreement between the two countries is incorrect and results from inaccurate translations of Russian officials’ remarks.

Earlier, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti published an article about the comprehensive cooperation agreement between Moscow and Tehran. Some interpreted this as a suspension of the agreement, which has since been refuted.
