WANA (Oct 22) – Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, and Takeshi Iwaya, Japan’s Foreign Minister, held a telephone conversation.

 

During the call, the Iranian Foreign Minister congratulated Takeshi Iwaya on his appointment as Japan’s Foreign Minister and emphasized the strengthening and continuation of the longstanding relations between Tehran and Tokyo.

 

The foreign ministers of Iran and Japan also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, stressing the need for international efforts to prevent the escalation of insecurity in the region, as well as the immediate establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to displaced people.

 

They also emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and consultations to enhance bilateral relations and stabilize peace and security in the region.
