WANA (July 31) – The Public Relations of the IRGC announced in a statement:
Early this morning, the residence of Dr Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Tehran, was struck, resulting in the martyrdom of him and one of his guards.

There are reports suggesting that Haniyeh and his guard were assassinated by a missile strike.

Tehran considers this assassination to be linked to the Israeli regime but has not yet officially responded to the assassination.

Ismail Haniyeh had travelled to Tehran at the invitation of the Iranian government to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new president, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian.

In the past few days, Ismail Haniyeh had separate meetings with Iran’s Supreme Leader and the President-elect.

The day before, Ismail Haniyeh and Ziad al-Nakhalah, along with leaders of the resistance from Lebanon and Yemen, attended the president’s inauguration ceremony.
