WANA (July 30) – Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, has named his administration the “National Unity Government.”

 

Previously emphasizing the necessity of national unity and forming such a government, he stated during his inauguration ceremony at the Islamic Consultative Assembly that the administration entrusted with executive responsibilities by the parliament’s vote of confidence would be the “National Unity Government.”

 

This government considers itself to be the government of all the people of Iran, committed to ensuring the civil rights of all Iranians and prioritizing national interests above all else.

 

In his speech, Pezeshkian further clarified, “National unity means putting aside disagreements that have no basis other than self-interest and joining hands to achieve this vision. What else did our people seek in this election?”

 

Choosing a title or slogan for governments aims to express their policies, strategies, and overall perspective on the country’s issues. This practice has garnered more attention from presidents and governments in recent presidential terms.

 

The thirteenth government, led by Ebrahim Raisi, adopted the slogan “People’s Government, Strong Iran.” The slogans of the twelfth and eleventh governments, led by Hassan Rouhani, were “Prudence and Hope,” while the slogans of the tenth and ninth governments, led by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, were “Government of Kindness” or “Kindness Government.”
