WANA (Dec 17) – The senior advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of Iran said: “The only way to save Islamic countries and counter the United States is the convergence, unity of nations, and the formation of the Pole of Power for the Islamic World.”

General Seyyed Yahya Rahim Safavi, senior advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, elaborated on the theory of “Forming the Pole of Power for the Islamic World in the New Global Order Geometry,” which has been chosen as a top theory among national defense, security, and strategic management perspectives. He stated: “We live in a chaotic world and region; the dominance of power and geopolitical and geo-strategic competition among regional and extra-regional powers to attain political, cultural, and economic dominance in strategic areas of the world has been the basis of power struggles, tensions, and wars for the past 200 years.”

General Safavi explained that the victorious powers of the First and Second World Wars divided European, African, and Asian nations—particularly Islamic lands from North Africa to Western and Eastern Asia—among themselves and created artificial or colonial borders. “They installed puppet governments to plunder economic resources and establish political, cultural, and military dominance. In North Africa and the Middle East—what they call the ‘world’s heartland,’ but we refer to as the ‘heart of the Islamic world’—they created a cancerous tumor and terrorist state (the Zionist regime). However, they were never successful in nation-building for this fake state.”

Highlighting major global and regional events that disrupted the bipolar world system, he added: “The victory of the Islamic Revolution, the success of the Iranian people in the sacred defense, the collapse of the Soviet Union following its defeat in Afghanistan, the formation of the Resistance Front to confront the Zionist regime’s aggressions from North Africa to West Asia, and the failures of the United States in its military invasions and occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the decline of U.S. hegemony, are among the major recent events.”

General Safavi painted a geopolitical picture of the current global power structure, stating: “It appears that today’s world is in a geopolitical transition, with a new global and regional order emerging. In this geopolitical shift, global power seems to be gradually transitioning from the West to the East.”

He added: “Scholars of international politics and geopolitical sciences attribute this spatial shift of power to knowledge-based economies, culture and ideology, modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, media communications, and the emergence of powerful leaders and nations on continental and regional scales.”

The head of the Shahid Soleimani Research Institute of Sacred Defense Knowledge noted: “Within the paradigm of global power competition, it is believed that the world is moving toward multilateralism or multipolarity. The Asian or Eurasian powers—comprising China, India, Russia, and Iran—are manifesting within organizations like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS. These alliances, based on common threats and interests, are specifically designed to counter U.S. unilateralism, NATO, and the role of the dollar in global economic transactions.”

General Safavi emphasized active strategic fault lines: “Western and Eastern geopolitical fault lines confronting Russia and China on a global scale are being triggered. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine emerged on Eurasian fault lines as a result of U.S., NATO, and European geographical expansion, threatening Russian national security. Likewise, Eastern conflict zones are intensifying to counter China’s rising global influence, with U.S. alliances in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Australia, and ongoing efforts in the Pacific and East Asia.”

In addressing the cultural and civilizational clash between the West and the Islamic World, he said: “This fault line is rooted in the dominance of Western values, material manifestations, science, technology, and culture, imposed through military power, political and economic hegemony, and a colonial history spanning the past 200 years.”

General Safavi referred to the current Western dominance over most Islamic nations, citing strategies by the U.S. and Zionists to continue attacks against oppressed Palestinians, escalate aggression towards Lebanon, and overthrow the Syrian government. He highlighted ongoing ground incursions into Syrian territory near Damascus.

Outlining the theory of forming the Pole of Power for the Islamic World, he stated: “For the first time, we have developed this theory on a global and regional scale. I conclude that the only way to rescue Islamic nations and counter global arrogance, specifically the U.S. and the Zionist regime—major causes of insecurity, wars, and genocide in our region and the world—is the convergence, unity, and formation of a Pole of Power or Union of Islamic Countries.”

Safavi enumerated pathways to achieve this vision: “The first step is the collective realization among nations and countries of the need for sustainable security, regional peace, progress, and national independence. The second is the rise of regional Islamic powers in North Africa, West Asia, and East Asia, followed by their regional convergence to form a united Islamic Power Bloc or Islamic Union.”

The senior advisor concluded: “This unity will be achieved through a shared understanding of hybrid threats against Islamic states and nations, alongside common interests and goals of establishing sustainable security, regional peace, and global justice.”
