WANA (July 06) – In a message, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed gratitude to all the candidates and election activists and emphasized the elected president’s utilization of the country’s vast capacities for the people’s welfare and the country’s progress, continuing the path of the president Ra’isi.

Text of the message from the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution:

“In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Praise God, the Lord of all worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Master Muhammad and his pure family, especially the remainder of God [Imam Mahdi]. May my soul be sacrificed for him. We thank the dear and merciful God, who, by His will and grace, enabled the great Iranian nation to organize the presidential election scene in a short legal period after the heavy loss of the martyred president. On two consecutive Fridays, they held a free and transparent election, and from among several candidates, elected the president of the country with a majority of votes.

The honorable election officials performed their duties with the necessary speed and complete honesty, and the dear people, with a sense of responsibility, came to the scene, creating a warm and enthusiastic environment, and filled the ballot boxes in two rounds with more than 55 million votes.

This great movement, in facing the manufactured uproar of election boycotts that the enemies of the Iranian nation initiated to instill despair and deadlock, is a brilliant and unforgettable act. All the honorable candidates and everyone who worked tirelessly for the victory of each of them for weeks are partners in this honor and reward.

Now, the Iranian nation has chosen its president. I congratulate the country, the elected president, and all the activists in this crucial scene, especially the passionate young people of the candidates’ campaign teams. I advise everyone to cooperate and think well for the country’s progress and increasing dignity. Competitive behaviours during the election period should transform into collegial norms, and everyone should strive within their capacity for the country’s material and spiritual development.

I also advise Dr. Pezeshkian, the elected president, to rely on God the Merciful, set sights on lofty and clear horizons, and continue the path of the martyr Ra’isi. He should make the most of the country’s vast capacities, especially the young, revolutionary, and faithful human resources, for the people’s welfare and the country’s progress.

Once again, I bow in gratitude at the divine threshold, send greetings and peace to the Lord of the Age [Imam Mahdi], remember the esteemed martyrs and the great leader of the martyrs, and express gratitude to all the honourable candidates and election activists who played a role in this critical period, as well as the national media, security guardians, and election execution bodies.”
