WANA (Mar 14) – Iranian game developers have created a game called “True Promise” in 2024, which has been developed under the supervision of the “Organization for the Development of Sacred Defense Culture in Cyberspace.”

This game, inspired by the operations of the Resistance Axis against the Israeli Army, offers a simulated experience of real battles. It combines strategy and first-person and third-person shooting styles, allowing players to command operations and use Iranian weaponry.

Mohammad Amin Nematollahi, an expert at the National Foundation for Computer Games, explains that the missions in the game are inspired by real clashes between the Resistance forces, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Israeli Army after the “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm” (October 7). Currently, the trial version is only available as a single-player mode, and there is no news of an online mode yet.

The gameplay of the game focuses on the command of operations, combating Israeli tanks, targeting enemy bases, and using Iranian drones, missiles, and military equipment.

In some stages, players directly control resistance forces and destroy targets using RPGs, mortars, and long-range missiles. Defending cities and friendly bases is also among the other missions.

In terms of the appropriate age rating for the game, Nematollahi, a game rating expert at the National Foundation for Computer Games of Iran, explained to parents: “This is a strategic game that focuses on the destruction of military equipment, and there are no scenes depicting the killing of individuals.”

One criticism of the game is the unclear mission objectives and the lack of information needed to complete them successfully. At the end of each stage, players earn points based on their performance and can upgrade their weapons. The modeling of Iranian weapons is considered one of the game’s strengths.

In terms of graphics and sound design, the game has a simple structure and faces issues such as an improper camera angle and various bugs. However, the developers hope that future updates will address these shortcomings.

Overall, “True Promise” is considered an engaging strategic game that focuses on the real battles of the resistance axis, making it an exciting experience for those interested in history and contemporary warfare.

Although it still falls short compared to major global games in terms of graphics and technical aspects, its gameplay innovations and attention to important details, especially in the design of Iranian weapons, are commendable.

Its demo version has been released for PCs, and the full version will be available on Windows and Android on April 14, 2025, coinciding with the anniversary of Operation True Promise 1.
