WANA (July 09) – The spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, regarding the negotiations to return to the JCPOA following the election of Massoud Pezeshkian as the new President of Iran, stated that while we are currently far from any “meaningful diplomatic solution,” diplomacy remains the most effective approach towards Iran’s nuclear program.

Matthew (Matt) Miller said: “We do not expect this election to lead to a fundamental change in Iran’s direction or policies. Ultimately, it is not the President who makes the final decision on the future of Iran’s policies, but the Supreme Leader of Iran.”
