U.S. Extends Iraq’s Waiver for Purchasing Electricity from Iran
WANA (July 18)—The US State Department Spokesperson announced that the United States has granted Iraq another four-month waiver to continue purchasing electricity from Iran despite sanctions.
The funds from these electricity purchases are to be used solely for humanitarian trade and other non-sanctionable transactions with Tehran.
