WANA (August 08) – The new leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, once again reiterated Hamas’s firm stance against the disarmament of the resistance and the occupation.

In his speech to a group of Palestinian youth in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, the successor to Ismail Haniyeh, declared that no one can force Hamas to recognize Israel.

In response to pressure from Zionists and the United States regarding the disarmament of the resistance and their claims of forming a national unity government with other Palestinian factions after the Gaza war, Sinwar emphasized that no one can force them to lay down their arms.

Sinwar also added, “We will never cut ties with Iran and other parties.”

The new Hamas leader stressed, “We are fighters for the liberation of Palestine and revolutionaries to grant freedom to our people. According to human rights laws, we fight against the occupiers and will continue to strengthen our military power to protect our nation.”

Regarding prisoner exchange negotiations, Sinwar warned the Zionists that without the freedom of their prisoners, their prisoners will never taste freedom.

It is noteworthy that while the political and security leaders of the Zionist regime thought that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the former head of Hamas’s political bureau, would lead to a change and reorganization of the leadership ranks of this movement, and at the same time, that the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, would distance itself from its political wing, the situation did not unfold as the enemy expected.

By electing Yahya Sinwar as the head of its political bureau, Hamas raised the level of challenges for the Zionists. This election was, in fact, the first response to the crime of the occupiers in the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.
